Fazendas Dutra is a network of family-run farms owned and operated by Ednilson and Walter
Dutra—brothers and great friends. The farms are in Săo Joăo do Manhuaçu, Minas Gerais.
They have been coffee producers all their lives—their father started the farm with 1 hectare,
buying a second and third hectare from the farm's profits until he had grown his land to 500 total
hectares. Brazilian Naturals are picked either selectively by hand or strip-picked by hand or
mechanically. They are then typically spread to dry on patios or, in the production of some
specialty coffees, dried on raised beds. Drying can take 20–25 days, depending on the weather.
In the Cup: Mild with dark fruit and roasted cocoa flavor.
Brazil Medium Roast 1lb
This medium bodied Arabica specialty coffee is from various farms in the South Minas region. Serra Negra, or “black mountain” is a Brazilian profile that captures the most classic profile from Minas Gerais, the growing region that includes Carmo de Minas. Our roast profile is sweet and citric with praline and salted peanut flavors.
